Is it worth to upgrade from i5 6400 to i5 6600k

Hello everyone, i was thinking to upgrade my cpu to a i5 6600k and wanted to know if its woth it i will us it mostly for games. I would give my cpu and 50 dollars for that one. Thanks

I would say yes.
The 6600K has higher frequencies, which should improve performance, but you can also overclock it to get even more out of it.

You should have more FPS in CPU oriented games.

Not worth it. If your going to upgrade, if you can afford it, get a z370mb and an i5 8400, or even better an i5 8600k.

He said the cost is his current CPU (6400) + 50$ for the 6600K.

I'd say it's worth. The 6600K runs at 3.5GHz and a turbo of 3.9GHz. The 6400 runs at 2.7GHz and a 3.3GHz turbo.

The 6600K would be closer to the I5 8400 in terms of clock speeds. Yes, the 8400 would be a better upgrade, but it's also more expensive.
