Windows 7 update problem - PC stuck in shut down loop

Today when i turned on my PC, in the bottom right i got a notification saying updates were not installed, which i ignored but later i went into windows update and downloaded and installed the updates, but guess what when i clicked on restart, the computer started logging off and after some time got stuck in a loop. Display was gone but CPU fan was working, and HDD activity i don't know so i ended up holding down the power button to shut it down. I have never come across such abnormal behaviour and it's driving me crazy. If you know why this happened, please let me know. This has happened twice now. The last update named KB4091290 failed. Is this some loop hole?

The last time i used this pc i remember i installed dell support assist software to look for new drivers and do some optimization and may be that has changed some setting. Please help. I am attaching a screenshot below that tells my update history.

There are just so many problems with that KB4088875 update for Windows 7 that I would avoid installing it at all (or if it is already installed, remove it as soon as possible and HIDE the KB4088875 update to prevent it from installing in the future). Microsoft really mucked things up with that recent update.

Thanks a lot
That update is not malfunctioning anymore but i uninstalled it anyway.

Windows update has almost every other time given me problems, so i guess i'd be better off not updating windows in future. As far as security is concerned, i have Quick heal antivirus pro and i think it works ok for me.

I had a hard time fixing a windows update error when i reverted my windows back to 7 from 10. That was like a nightmare.. I think some files had corrupted. Then, i had to struggle with Code 8024200D.
