Hi so. i'm buying a Gaming PC from a friend but i want to make sure everything is okay or working well. he mentioned he overclocked Ram but says it's working fine, and installed cracked windows 10. he bought it a year ago and only used it for 2 months so basically it's been shutdown for 10 months without using it.

I5 3.90GHZ 6M 6600
Asus Z710-Deluxe motherboard
RAM Corsair DDR4 32GB - 3000
Power 700w Cooler Master
CPU Liquid Corsair H100I
GTX 1080 Evga Founders Editions
SSD m.2 256GB
CM Storm Stryker - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case
4TB HardDisk

also he's asking for 1600$ for it is it a good deal?

Solution
There are stress tests you can run on the PC to check the components.

Prime95 for your CPU.
Memtest86 for your RAM.
Furmark for your Graphics.

If you're overly concerned, I'd run each for testing.

and installed cracked windows 10

Dumbest thing ever since you can download and run Windows 10 direct from Microsoft (without activation and no hidden nasties) for free (there are some minimal limitations). BTW, Tom's Hardware does not support software piracy in any way, shape, or form. If you did purchase it, I'd recommend a format and clean install of Windows.

As for your "friend", he's ripping you off.

1) The processor, while good, is two generations old.
2) For a "Gaming PC" 32GB of RAM is serious overkill. Unlikely that any game in the next 10 years will require more than 16GB of RAM in a system.
3) Average power supply.
4) Overkill storage drive.

It does have a decent processor and a GTX 1080 so it's not a complete waste, but the system is used. I'd be looking closer to $900. You can go higher depending on how close of a friend he is.

i agree on the windows 10 point and i will change it don't worry.
regarding the 32GB Ram i agree its too much. but i'm planning to use it for the next 5 years at least.

but my main question is how to make sure everything is okay and not damage? and is it okay that the PC wasn't used for more then 8 months? and does the Overclock damage the ram? if yes how can i make sure its still in good condition ?
