Hello guys,

First of all, I'm a complete beginner in this kind of things :)

I would like to buy a new graphics cards ( Nvidia GTX 1070 ). I've read that this card needs at least 500 W of power.

I checked my PSU and I got this:https://imgur.com/a/F26dA
So my question is, will this be good enough for GTX 1070 of should I upgrade my PSU?

Other PC spec:

i7 4790 @ 3,6 Ghz
16 GB RAM

Thanks a lot!

Sorry but can you please explain why I can use the one you suggest and not the one I posted?
Because the one you suggest is also 450 W. Confusing :)

I'm a noob and would like to understand this PC building world a bit better, thx :)

not all power supplies are created equal

some cannot actually deliver the wattage they claim, some low rent crap actually blowing up if you try to get more than 300w out of them

this is why you never buy non reviewed units, there is a lot of shady BS that happens with untrustworthy makers

Quality..

this one is decent while yours is thrash.. the components that are used... they way they're assembled.. design..

84 Watt CPU 150 watt or more depending o the model of the video card about 60 watts or a bit less for everything else.
Around 300 watts depending on the video card model.
384 Watt power supply on the 12 volt rail so around 80% of the PSU.. Again depending on the video card model number.

I would not spend that much on a video card and not upgrade the power supply I had much rather see the PSU running in the 65/70% area under load.

Depending on where you can buy parts from as what to buy but I would be looking for at the least a 450 watt high quality PSU that can actually put out 450 watts on the 12 volt rail. Since your buying one usually for just a couple bucks more you can get a 550 watt so that would give you plenty of power even if you had one of the overclocked model video cards and also leave more room for future upgrades.

Example of the prices from 450 watts to 550 Watts on a high quality PSU in the US, about 6 bucks so the 550 would be the better buy.
