I have a Lenovo laptop that the hard drive unfortunately stopped working, Lenovo couldn't help do I bought a refurbished Seagate slim drive from eBay, it works fine for most things although must have come from a Dell laptop and the WiFi and mouse pad both do not work due to driver errors, I have tried both dell and Lenovo for a fix but no luck.

I'm using an ethernet cable and wireless USB mouse for now but wondered if I could download drivers or find a way to fix this (or do I just need to buy a replacement seagate hard drive used on a Lenovo machine?).

Thanks

Solution
For this new drive you bought, you need to do a full OS install.
Did it come with an OS of some sort?

Clean install of the OS, and then of course the relevant drivers for your hardware.

Hi, it didn't come with an OS, pretty much just a blank wiped drive, my own laptop had the pre installed os on the old drive so I'm just using a free download which gets me windows and is usable for now.

"a free download"
Please elaborate...

Your trackpad probably just needs the drivers installed.
