Wired Xbox 360For PC Controller frequently disconnecting

Hello guys, I have a problem with my Xbox 360 (wired) controller for PC. While I'm playing frequently it's disconnecting (windows sound for disconnecting and the controller is flashing). Recently I'm playing Final Fantasy XV with this controller, but when it disconnect, I need to restart my PC to use it again in this game.

I tried another USB port (all of my ports to be more specific). What could cause this to happen? The controller is somewhat new (6-7 months old).

there's probably a break in a wire in the cable somewhere causing intermittent disconnects.

This is happening when i move the controller just a little. Those controllers are just... I don't know how these controllers are meant to last 5 to 7 years (life of a Xbox 360). Just don't know.

I tried to find the spot where is broken, but i can't. The cable is long 3 meters.

Your not going to be able to see it, your exact issue happened to me although mine I replaced after two years but I figured this out by taking the controller apart and the spot where the cable meets the controller was loose but I was unable to reconnect it. You probably could with the right tools but I didn't want to as assembling back together is quite a pain, ended up buying the Xbox One X wireless controller for PC.

You are right, I'll buy a new controller or maybe cheap gamepad for now. I'll see what i can do

Is it under warranty by any chance?

I think that it has warranty, but I opened it a while ago to fix button problem, and I don't think that they will repair it under warranty.

It may be worth looking into, if they can't tell that you opened it and think it's a defect then you should be able to get another as 6-7 months is pretty poor for a brand name controller.

I just checked, it's four and a half months, not even five month.Also there were a warranty sticker and i teared it, so I think they will not fix it

Doh! Not sure what you consider cheap but the same controller is $25 at Newegg.
