Reformating a Specific PS4 External Hard Drive

So I have a hard drive that is specifically for my ps4 but something happened and now when I turn on my ps4 my hard drive is not getting detected. I tried to get another cable to see if it was the cable but it wasn't. Now I am trying to figure out a free way to reformat my hard drive to see if it will work again with my ps4. I have about 10 or so games on it already and its a seagate 2 tb hard drive. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Hello snitchypants! Seagate here. You may try our free Seagate Seatools software to low format the drive which is the best method to erase your data. Seatools can also run a long and short generic test which will give you the health status of your drive. We suggest checking on the health of the drive first before formatting as this will save you time in case the drive is malfunctioning. You can also verify your warranty here as well.
