PC Experiencing Long Time on Mobo Splash Screen

First off this is my first time posting so I apologize if this is not in the correct location. To begin I have just upgraded some components of my PC but this problem persisted before the upgrades. Whenever I begin a fresh boot of the system, I must wait at least 4 minutes on the Asus splash screen before windows begins to boot. This problem had started shortly before my upgrade. As far as diagnostic work I have updated all my drivers, as well as updating my BIOS. I have booted the system without extra usb devices plugged in and this problem still happens. My guess is that this is a SSD(Boot Drive) related problem, however the drive is only 5 or so years old so to my knowledge shouldn't be dying already. My hope is to avoid purchasing any new components in the near future, however if this is the only solution it will not be the end of the world. Thank you in advance.

My currents specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 1600x
MOBO: Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8GB) DDR4 3000
GPU: 2 x XFX R9 280X (crossfire)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
Seagate Desktop 1TB HDD
PSU: Seasonic X-1050 1050W 80 Plus Gold
OS: Windows 10
(I realize some of this stuff is outdated. But money doesn't grow on trees.)

I actually had the same problem occur to me yesterday, however instead of waiting for it to boot, it actually wouldnt get past the splash screen at all. I found out that my 6 year old SSD was causing this issue. And the only way to boot into windows is if I unplugged this SSD.
So I ordered a USB3.0/SATAIII Adapter to try to back up my files incase the SSD was dead so I could buy another, however I found out that the SSD is in perfect condition, so I backed up anyways. I once again tried to restart my PC with the SSD plugged in, this time internally via SATA III, and it worked :)
Not sure what happened, this sort of issue never occured with my system before, but I guess it was some sort of huckup.

If youre not comfortable in dropping $5...

If youre not comfortable in dropping $5 on a adapter, I suggest doing the basics first e.g
- Reslot RAM/check individual sticks
- Reset CMOS (remove battery from MB for a few min)
- Reseat GPU
- Check SATA cable (use different cable)
- Check SATA ports, plug into different ports in the MB
-Check power cable, try different power plugs from the PSU

If none of those work, I suggest buying one of those adapters and booting into windows, then plugging in your SSD like that. Then see if windows recognises the drive. If so, shutdown your PC and connect the SSD via SATAIII again and see if that works. Even if it doesnt work, the adapter may come to good use later on in the future ;)
