Hi there, I am in need of an upgrade at a budget price.
I currently have a Gigabyte GTX 560 ti.
My motherboard CPU and Ram upgrade I have covered, just have a question in terms of my GPU upgrade.

What would you suggest is the next best thing up from my GPU,
for the price tag of around R5000 is the GTX 1060 going to give me a difference or will I only have a note worthy upgrade if i go to a 1070 etc. I am trying to avoid the R10 000 price tag upgrade. I also don't want to upgrade if my upgrade is barely a difference and in the end i waste money

Thanks

Solution
om researching (clearly not good enough) i was finding the 560ti is about the same as the 1060.
hum no... according to https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/common_gpus.html
You can see where the GTX 5460 TI stands (not even close to a GTX 1050ti marked in blue, and another milder upgrade.)

No doubt the 1070 and 1080 are better cards, but if your monitor is a 1080p then IMHO no real need for 1070 or 1080.
even though as shown below they are more powerful video cards.

1. here is the difference in power between the GTX 560 TI and the GTX 1060, and yes either the 1060 3GB or 6GB would be a massive improvement.

2. the GTX 560 TI needs more power than the 1060 (170w vs 120w) your psu will appreciate it, BUT the 1600 and since 560 ti already used the 21xpcie power connectors, I will assume you have the required power supply to provide the needed 2xpcie connectors to power the 1060.

3. unless your monitor is a 4K monitor you do not need a 1070/1080 series.

Thank you, from researching (clearly not good enough) i was finding the 560ti is about the same as the 1060. Interesting to know then. I just bought a new PSU Corsair CX 650w Modular and bronze certified. SO I assume it will be fine. I will be playing Rust as well as the witcher, dota 2 ,PUBG . My CPU,MOO, Ram upgrade comes to R10 000 so a 1070 would be another R10 000 where as the 1060 would only be R4500

Lastly I ask then - really appreciate your help - In terms of photo editing (Lightroom and photoshop) would your statement still stand in terms of the no real need for 1070 or 1080 unless 4k ?
