Hi everyone, i'm totally new to pc's but love flight sims so i purchased a pc over the weekend thinking it will be straight forward this computer has been custom built (not for me),i thought it sounded like just the thing i needed,so here goes,it has no dvd reader but i purchased one from ebay and should be along this week, the problem is that when i downloaded my bt cloud, google, ect ect,its going on to the ssd and not the hard drive,i have been looking at countless video's on youtube all to no avail i can't get anything to store on the hard drive??,here are the specs of the pc,i5 4670k,8gb cmx8gx3m2b1600c9 xms3 (2x4gb) DDR3,,R9 290 gpu, gigabyte z87x-d3h motherboard,m4 256gb ssd,hd 24ui 2tb hard drive, western digital 3tb hard drive, samsung spinpoint hd753cj 750gb f1 hard drive,"old" 320gb hard drive (unplugged),coolmaster stacker 831 case, antec hgc-900 high currency gamer 900w power supply...i'm reading these settings off of the ebay sellers specs as i don't know how to look at them on the pc that's how new i am to pc's,i am not stupid but please explain what to do as if you was talking to a chimp:),any help would be great as i can't play my flight sims until this is resolved,i'm disabled and thought this would be a good way to pass my time tinkering with the pc but it's not to be as i'm lost and stuck, kind regards michael, also i have windows 10 installed on the ssd, thankyou

Solution
Hi there click "windows key and E" then click D right click create folder name it something like TEMP ok now go to google chrome in the right hand box just under the X go down to settings scroll down to the bottom click on advanced scroll down till you find Downloads click on change and select your D TEMP that we created earlier now all downloads will go to D TEMP if you do a "windows key and E" then click D and right click on TEMP create shortcut then move shortcut to desktop

You can go into your browser settings and switch the default drive. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95759?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en Gaming clients like Steam, Origin, uplay and VR gaming clients also have their individual settings for Installer and for the game. That means you can set where the download will go and where the game will install.

hi,thanks alot for taking the time out to reply to me i will go check it out,is that solution for games only as i did want to store as much as possible on the hard drives and leave the ssd alone with the os only??,i know people are busy so yeah if you would like to reply many thanks if not totally ok,

regards michael

That is a browser wide solution for Chrome.

There are individual settings for gaming clients or for other vendors. Where exactly are you download the game from? During an Install the user is normal given an option to decide where they want to install it with C: usually being a default drive.

hi,sorry for the delay in replying, yeah the os is on the ssd which has 256gb but the pc came with 3 hard drives that total over 5tb,so i wanted to keep my ssd clean and put everything on to one of the hard drives,it came with microsoft browser so i installed google as i have an account with them and it went straight on the ssd,i also have bt cloud have used 30gb of my 1tb when i put it on there was no option it went straight to the ssd and that's a chunk of storage that would be better off on the hard drive???,so i'm at a loss to know whats going on,many thanks michael
