Hi,

So I have just made my first pc. Everything went well as far as I was aware and then when I started my pc up the fans turned, mobo lit up, ram lit up etc. but no output onto my monitor. When I start my pc up i notice on the motherboard that the CPU light flashes and then goes again and thats it. What could this be?

The dreaded 'no HDMI signal'. I've been through this a bunch of times. I have a couple suggestions, but I'm not anywhere near the expert that others are.

1) Check your HDMI cable. It's possible the cable itself is faulty (best case scenario).

2) Try using an alternate connection method. Such as Display Port, if your port options support this.

3) Make sure your system panel cables are connected properly. I always have trouble connecting them, and a single connection out of place can sink your build. What I do is simply search for a 'system panel cable' reference on Google.

4) Lastly, as far as my suggestions go, I'd look to your Power Supply Unit. This was the culprit when I encountered this problem. It could be a loose cable, or it could be the PSU itself that's faulty.

If these suggestions don't work, don't fret too much. There are better experts around. I was just browsing (as I also have an unrelated PC issue) and thought I might be able to help.

If the CPU light turns off, that should indicate that the CPU is detecting OK. I can't tell if you're saying it turns on, then off; or if you're saying it's blinking.

Are you plugging your HDMI cable into the motherboard's HDMI port or the 1060s HDMI port?

Yeah I need the GPU for any output, I think my best bet would be to go and take it to a specialist in my area to take a look for me

lol. well that's confusing. the AMD page brags about the chip's 1080gaming and 4Kgaming and video encoding capabilities.

Do you have a speaker plugged into JFP2 on the motherboard? This may help you with beep error codes.
