i5 750 80 degrees

Solution
Older processors do run hot.
80c. is hot, but not out of line.
100c. is the point around which the cpu will slow down or shut off to protect itself.

If you are using the stock cooler, check to see that it has not been dislodged.
At idle, I hope to see 10-15c. over ambient if the cooler is working well.

Check to see that your case intake fans are clear and working.

If you have dust inside on your parts, it is time to clean that up.
