Pubg running poorly on what should be a good enough pc

My friend has an i5 7600k and a dual gtx 690
He however has only one stick of 8gb ddr4 RAM 2100mhz (i don't know which one exactly)
He recently bought PUBG and when we were playing today his FPS kept going down into the 30s and the game even froze from time to time completely so does anyone know what might be the issue
I have a friend with a 750 TI who's running the game normally so even if his dual GPU is is not using both he still should not drop below 40 in the worst case

PUBG is horrible in terms of optimization. Is he running at 1080 resolution? Medium settings? If so 30ish frames sounds about correct. He'll need to drop to a lower resolution or drop settings to low to get slightly better frames. The SLI is not doing anything so it's acting like he has one 690.

Are they both running the same resolution and detail settings? I find it extremely difficult to fathom someone with a 750Ti getting better performance than someone with a GTX 690 (I am assuming that PUBG doesn't take advantage of dual GPU usage, but have no idea).

well it was worse than the 750TI guy but we managed to fix it by using the -lowmem command
we first enabled both gpu's trough a fix which fixed the framerate drops however the game kept freezing randomly for a second and usually just running poorly even on high enough fps and using the -lowmem launch command fixed it for now at least so as it stands it must be that 8GB RAM is not enough on win 10 for pubg
Also,he was running everything on very low except AA and textures on high
it's okay for now :D
