How many RPM-s are normal?

Hello!

I noticed that my CPU fan is going as fast as 33800 RPM-s and case fan only 5500 RPM-s .
Also CPU fan making loud sound because of that. Is that a sign of threat that something is wrong?

Thank you!

Solution
Fastest pc fan I've ever heard of is made by Delta and tops 8000 rpm. It's also so loud it's pretty much regulated to server applications, in a room with heavy-duty doors, preferably on another floor.

Software is not always accurate, or sometimes even close to accurate. My pc has one temp reading of 255°C and another sensor reads -125°C. My 12v rail also reads as 8.2v. All are impossible and have the pc actually run. Use multiple apps to verify, for Intel cpu's I recommend CoreTemp or RealTemp or Speccy, for AMD use Overdrive or Afterburner. Hwinfo64 and Hwmonitor can also be used, but they will have some sensors that don't read right, a failing more on the mobo manufacturers, not the software designers.

Check the CPU temperature with HWInfo or similar. If the temperature is decent (60-80C at full load depending on the type of HSF and CPU), then that should be fine. If your temperatures are much lower than that, then the high fan speeds could simply be due to an excessively aggressive fan speed curve.

The tempretures are while staying on internet: 30-40 and while gaming usually 55C

55C under moderate load is a non-issue, so you should be able to dial down the fan speed. You'll have to dig out your manual or poke around the BIOS to find how it works for your motherboard. There will usually be at least three parameters: a low threshold temperature, a minimum PWM%/speed value and a max threshold temperature. The PWM% is at the low value until the low threshold is passed, then ramps to hit 100% at the max threshold. In fancier BIOS, there may be extra temperature-PWM% points in the fan curve.

There is no CPU fan that goes to 33800 RPM. Also, very few case fans are higher than 3000 RPM. Seems like a mobo misread.

There is another one by Delta even higher. Linus has a video about it. Its around 13000

CPU: i5:2500
Motherboard: Lenovo Thinkcentre 4518
Not sure about the CPU cooler. I think im going to get a new one though: Hyper 212 EVO coolermaster for 30 euros.
The fan started going really fast after changing some pc parts and making loud blowing noise!
Thank you!

Thank you for the answer!
i have all three you recommended, but i cant see the RPM rates.
