ab350 gaming 3 on board audio

Hello everbody, I have a quick question on how on board audio works. So I a have a gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 and it comes with ALC 1220 120dB SNR HD Audio with Smart Headphone Amp.
From what i've been reading, only headphones with 3.5 mm connectors can use onboard audio on motherboards. So my question is, Will any headset with a 3.5mm connector sound the same in terms of quality? if not, could someone recommend me some good budget headphones?

Well, any sound device like headphones and speakers that use USB have own DAC so are independent from onboard audio. Others need 3.5mm connection to MB to use onboard CODEC. That chip has good sound but quality of headphones themselves is not same across the board.
