Laptop: Swapping DVD drive for Blu-ray?

Hi. I have a Cyberpower Fangbook 4 SK-X17 G-Sync Gaming Laptop. The "mechanical clone" for this white label laptop is an MSI GT 72S 6QE Dominator Pro G.

The Fangbook came with an internal 9.5mm DVD-R drive, and I'd really like to swap it out for a Bluray drive instead...just for watching Bluray discs.

Other than the 9.5mm size, is there anything else I need to consider? I assume with modern laptops (this rig is about 2 years old) all the SATA connections would work. The bezel on the existing drive is removable. Is there a chance the mobo wouldn't somehow support a Bluray drive or something weird like that?

OR would I be better off getting an external USB Bluray drive for it? The thought of lugging around another piece of tech is not something I'd prefer though.

Thanks for any thoughts.

theevilturnip and R0GG: Thanks for the input. I dove in, bought what I thought was the correct one, had some hiccups getting the old drive out (it is a notebook), but prevailed in the end, including swapping the bezel. It works, Blu rays on the notebook! I did get a "can't start up this device because the registry entry is corrupted" error, but a bit of fiddling in regedit fixed the issue. Thanks for your help.

You're welcome, enjoy the blu ray addition, I myself just upgraded 2 Small Form Factor custom computers slim DVD drives to blu ray Burner ones: one slot load and the other tray load (total cost for both = $75 only on ebay) :)
