I am building this rig in the 1st week of May. i plan to use it in the decreasing order of importance for the following uses:
1)4K Gaming @60 fps
2)Game Streaming/Video Recording and Editing
3)Music Recording/Editing
4)Observing Stock Markets
5)Watching 4K movie/shows with Amazon Prime/Netflix

The rig is as follows:
1)ZOTAC GTX 1080 Mini
2)LG 24UD58 4k monitor
3)i5 8400
4)Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2400mhz 8GBx2 RAM
5)MSI B250M MORTAR (with Flashed BIOS)
6)Samsung 860 EVO 250 GB SATA SSD
7)Corsair VS 650W PSU
8)Corsair SPEC 01 Cabinet
9)WD 1TB HDD
10)ASUS DVD BURNER

My question is this-Should I change anything in my rig and if yes, what? What precautions do I need to take like flashing my Kaby Lake mobo BIOS to ensure that my Coffee Lake CPU works with it?

EDIT:#1) I am considering a Z370 or B360 or H3×× series motherboard with 1/2 m.2 slots and if possible 2 pcie x16 slots with 1 using a pciex4 lane for RAID or pcie ssd expansion in future. No SLI needed. As it has been pointed out that previous gen chipset motherboards are incompatible with Coffee Lake.
EDIT #2)Corsair CX650M has been recommended best of 2018 in its range of wattage by Tom's hardware and I am going for it instead of VS 650.
EDIT#3) I will be asking around for suggested parts by all the posts but availability might be an issue with the local market I plan on buying them from. Nonetheless thanks for the useful suggestions.

Mobo is something I have used and works well. PSU is much better, and a good unit.

I have the case you have listed and I would not go...
MSI B250 will not support 8000-series 8th gen processors...

Switch to some sort of Z370 mainboard....; as one only builds a rig every 3-4 years on average, might as well spring for the 8700K if possible.... (you can add your storage drive and DVD burner later to help offset costs....sell some plasma if necessary!) :)

Thanks for the help but 8700k is turning out to be twice as expensive as 8400 and I will be buying most of my rig on 3 days of May to get 5% discount during that period. And I think I read somewhere that B250, H270, AND Z270 work with 8th Generation Coffee Lake processors, you just have to upgrade the BIOS using previous generation (7th gen) processor. Pardon me if I am wrong.

Pardon you then, because yes you are wrong. Coffee lake only works on 3xx series chipsets and currently only the Z370 is available the b360 and h370 have not yet been released but are due out soon(will likely be out before May). If you don't believe me simply check the cpu support list for any 2xx series board and you'll only see 6th and 7th gen cpus no 8th gen.

Also the Corsair VS series is the worst PSU Corsair slapped their sticker on and is best avoided.

Thanks for the quick replies. I don't know how the idea that Coffee Lake can be made to work with Kaby Lake got into my head, sorry about that. Last 5 months have been nerve-wracking understanding all about pcie slots, dp 1.4, hdmi 2.0, sli x8/x8 configuration, m.2 slots etc. etc. so kindly excuse my dogmatism. I have reconsidered 2 z370 motherboards: Z370 pc pro MSzi and Gigabyte Z370 D3H. In case the 3×× chipset b and h series motherboqrds aren't available by then. bignastyid you mentioned corsair as being sub-pwr what options would you choose then- Cooler Master, Antec or Gigabyte as these are the only ones available apart from Corsair in the local market?

I have the case you have listed and I would not go for it. While it is okay for starting off, the drive bay holders are very flimsy and broke for me when trying to take them out. To remove the front panel is literally a visit to the gym (atleast for me). Try the case I have chosen, looks better (imo) and heard it is pretty good.

Thanks for such useful suggestions Archit from your invaluable experience. I will keep these points in mind while ordering parts. Thanks!!!! Anything else which is incompatible or downright erroneous in my build?

Do you have any suggestion for a 4k screen which is around 260$ like the one I chose or maximum 350 dollars? The 4k monitor I chose has DP 1.2, HDMI 2.0x2, 3years warranty, IPS Panel and not that I will have any use for it for the foreseeable future, Freesync. Any other possible alternative?

Madmatt, i disagree here, even at 24" you will see major differences in AA, the lines will be less jagged if not perfect straight at 4k. I have a 24" fullhd aoc and i run in DSR at 4k all my games and there is a major difference.
I agree with the part that a single gtx 1080 cant handle 4k 60 fps only if you are willing to seriously lower texture quality and other effects. I have gtx 1080 in sli overclocked to 2200 mhz core and 5000mhz memory and in some games barely maintain 60 fps.One of them is nier automata, i play at around 65-67 fps constantly.

Actually to be entirely truthful an average of 45 fps Ultra at 4k on the most demanding games will do for me. Later on I might have to tone down settings a bit but I will be upgrading in the next 3/5 years (as it is the warranty I will be getting with a Zotac mini Gtx 1080) the GPU, CPU and the monitor as and if technology grows by leaps and boumds in terms of quality and affordability. That is why I am not going all-out with this rig in terms of money. By leaps and bounds I mean how GTX 1070 outperformed all previous generation NVIDIA cards or how display technology has ample room to grow in terms of affordability and variety. So I will exploit that in the future, gradually.
