Plugging modem in

So I recently moved into a house with two other people and we decided to get internet. We chose Belong and they shipped out the modem. Upon receiving it we found that there was no where to plug it in, to receive internet connection. We found that the phone jack wires had been cut and the only other ports were for the tv, Foxtel and Optus Cable.. Any help would be appreciated.

When you say 'cut' do you mean removed from the inside of the phone jack? If you have no phone cable to plug into your modem then you need to reach out to person who owns or manages the house you moved into. They should fix it so that you can receive internet.

Edit - If you have a lose cable from the wall you could try putting the connector on yourself (there's dozens of videos on the tube) however, the connection could also be removed elsewhere. Still best to contact the house owner/manager.

Basically where the cable runs from the jack under the house and away, it's been tethered. So I think your idea of contacting the owner to get that fixed is definitely a good idea. Was just wondering if an electrician was needed to come and install new Ethernet ports or something of the like.

Question from mja015 : "No where to plug modem in"

Might be a good question to pose to your ISP or whoever owns the house. What type of connection does your service rely upon (for the modem to connect to)?

Not exactly sure the specific connection but with speaking to a guy at Belong he says that the house should already be ready to connect it just needs someone to install the correct wall port.
