AMD FX-7500 low frequency problems

I have Acer Aspire E5-551g with and Amd FX-7500 which has a base clock of 2.1 ghz and turbo of 3.3 ghz. My problem is that during games it goes down to 1.1 ghz and while internet surfing it goes straight to 2.8 to 2.9 ghz. Plz help and sorry for bad english

It could be hitting the thermal threshold. Check and clean out all dust and all the fans in the case.
Also, how do you know it's dropping frequency? What are you using to monitor it?

I monitored it with windows task manager when i use google chrome it stays up 2.8 to 2.9 ghz.
On the other hand i checked it on valley benchmark it stay below 2.0 ghz and as for dust on thermal threshold i checked it was clean.

The valley benchmark lists your GPU frequency when it's running not your CPU frequency.

Yes i know that it monitor gpu but i unchecked full screen option ran it on 1280x720 resolution high setting. While benchmark was running i checked cpu frequencies with cpu-z and it remain contantly under 1.0 ghz same happened when i checked it with far cry 3 with normal settings and same resolution.Thanks for replying.

Hmmm, I'm wondering if CPU-Z is getting confused when you are running graphics intensive programs and listing the integrated GPU speed instead? (just thinking out loud)
It could be that your CPU/GPU is reaching its thermal design limits and downclocking as well.

Stopping, or even pausing a benchmark for a second to switch to a monitoring page doesn't give true statistics. But there's an easy solution. Open Hardware Monitor can log all of this information to a text file. So, let the bench run for a couple loops and post that log file. Also, let your system sit at the desktop (doing nothing) for the same amount of time and post that file.

Hello i want to say that i find the solution but something is confusing me.you see i have 4 game installed in my laptop currently far cry 3 battlefield 3 and bad company 2 and tomb raider 2013. I notice that as charger was plugged i get top 25 fps in far cry 3 whether high or low in tomb raider 25 to 30 high or low and 35 to 40 in battlefields but as i remove charger and play on battery i get 15 to 20 or more fps boost in every game. So any idea what is going on.Thanks for previous replies.

Your video card is probably being limited by power management.
