I have a ga-g41mt-s2pt motherboard
I want to get 8gb of ram and I see a good deal on ECC ram does the ECC memory will work with it

That board (Rev 2.1) only supports 1333 (OC)/1066/800 non-ecc ram. You'd need a workstation 771 with a Xeon processor to support ecc ram.
