Slow after cloning to SSD, Booted only from SSD after cloning Pretty sure its booting from SSD as it shows as system boot C:

What else do I have to do I see not significant performance. I think my motherboard/system supports trim because when I used the defrag tool it shows it as trimming.
So what else do am I missing here.
Even the Boot time has hardly increased.
There is slight increase in speed which I generally see everytime I clean my computer and remove my Ram clean it with an eraser and put it back in.
This time I did the same and then finally decided to use my SSd that was lying for a year with me.
I just didnt not want any issues to come up during work so I kept procrastinating.
But the transition was smooth. I used EaseUS partition manager to clone the disk and it did tell me attach only the SSD drive after reboot which I did.
It did the changes and then I still rebooted it only with the SSD(though it said now you can attach your HDD). just to be sure.
So I don't know whats wrong.
Please help.
Thank you.

What exactly is slow? Do some benchmarks, monitor performance of your pc, post screenshots.

You can use:
HDtune benchmark, AS SSD benchmark, Resource Monitor, MSI afterburner.

Also screenshot from Disk Management would be good (to verify everything is cloned correctly).

Using Benchmarks wont help cause i don't have my previous installation benchmarks.

My boottime is the same as it was. and I didnt see any speed in working like my computer lags after a day or two I have to restart it.
It takes time to refresh.

I am talking very subjectively here. I heard that when you migrate to an SSD the performance jump is very significant and you can actually feel.

The only objective measure I have is my boot time which has remained the same.

The computer is a bit faster after I uninstalled classic shell App(for the classic Menu)
Infact when I migrated to the SSD it just got worse and my explorer kept crashing.
I doubted the classic shell app and I was right.

I am just hoping that there is still some Bios settings I have to change or something to get that extra speed that people claim it gives.
Thats why I posted this query.

I am pretty sure its booting from the SSD. the 250 GB SSd drive is showing as C
Anyways I will post a screenshot.

Yes That is the only 240GB drive.
No I didnt run any benchmarks like I said I dont' have previous installation benchmarks to compare to.
I just feel it has not changed from working on it and boot time

This is the drive I purchased https://www.onlyssd.com/product/sandisk-plus-sdssda-240g-g26-240gb-ssd/
Right now my system froze and crashed.
I read that if I enabled AHCI mode the system will be faster.
But it refused to boot.
Maybe AHCI drivers are not installed(though Trim is enabled for the drive) I am using WIndows 10 Professional.(Its the free upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate)
After I switched it to AHCI I could not see the SSD in the options of Boot #1 #2 and #3.
When I switched it back to IDE also I cannot see the options in boot.
For now I wanted my system up so I used the boot overide and booted.
In the Boot overide and in the bios startup screed the SSD is showing up.
Even now in Windows its showing perfectly.
Ran the Sandisk SSD took its says health and performance is perfect.

This is my motherboard https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/F1A75M_PRO/

So - you don't want to show any screenshots. Right?
Well - if your diagnostics says "health and performance is perfect", then nothing can be improved there. :)

BTW - change from IDE mode to AHCI mode require OS re-installation (it can be done with registry hack and booting into safe mode also, but you'll have to google it).

I dont have a benchmarking software trying to download one then I can share screenshots.

This is the Sandisk utility I don't think it benchmarks the drive but I may be wrong.

Let me do some research and see what is the acceptable write speed for this model.

BTW I assumed since this is non moving drive I have not attached to my cabinet? could that make a difference?

I got a lot a few extra cables which I stuffed and kept above my hard drive. So I connected this SSD properly and just placed in between those non-connection bunch of cables.
I turned it on with the cabinet open and its just staying there between those cables.
Its standing almost like those vibration free rubberbands that some cabinets use to hold up HDDs.

The SSD if very light and its just staying there though its not perfectly straight I figured since its a SSD that should not be a problem(even for HDDS I guess)

Should I buy a bay or should I just screw one side into HDD bay. I just avoided buying a caddy because I will be switching over to a laptop soon and was thinking of buying one that has an SSD slot so I can use this in there.

That's still really, really bad. Especially your write speed and access time.

For comparison:

Sandisk Ultra II 960 GB:

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB:

Bottom line, though...that particular drive has abysmal specs for write performance:

From your link: https://www.onlyssd.com/product/sandisk-plus-sdssda-240g-g26-240gb-ssd/
Performance
Max Sequential Read : Up to 520 MBps
Max Sequential Write : Up to 180 MBps

Wow that really puts everything in perspective. Never realized my drive is so bad.

BTW do you think keeping it on top of cables instead of screwing it up in a Bay adapter will make any difference in the speed.

So I think I will have to get rid of this drive and buy a newer one.

BTW what is the reading under storeahci ok in the benchmarks.
I see the higher performing drives have a lot more of that in K.
