Clone Win10 DVD to Thumb Drive?

Morning, All,

I have a laptop I needs a clean install of Win10. Should be no worry since I have an unused DVD copy of Win10....but no laptop DVD drive, so I need to put Win10 on a thumb drive. I know about the MS tools and download to do this....in fact I have done it this way in the past.

BUT: It surely would be simpler and quicker to simply clone my Win10 DVD onto the thumb drive directly.

Is there any reason this would not work?

Thanks, as always,

Larry

It would actually be easier and faster to use the MediaCreation tool and make a new USB.
That way, you get the current Win 10 install. A lot fewer updates to install later.
As opposed to whatever is on that DVD.
