Need help trouble shooting USB Hub problem.

Hi,


I need help troubleshooting to identify if the problem is my Mobo USB or my USB Hub (Powered).

My USB Licenser dongles keeps going "Out" when using applications that need them and causes errors and "hangs". i need to manually plug them in and out every time to get it working.

How can i know if i need to buy a new USB hub or not?


I have couple of things attached to my USB 2.0 Hub.
- 3 license dongles
- Camera (rarely used)
- USB Wifi
- Mouse&Keyboard

I also have a KVM switch which incorporates the USB hub (KB&Mouse are connected (or summed) to the USB hub)

Look, USB2 has theoretical bandwidth of only 480 Mbit/s, mostly maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of it in reality. All devices connected to that port have to share that bandwidth.

Ok, I unplugged the Camera and Wifi.

Currently i have 3 dongles, a Bluetooth plug for the KB and Mouse attached but im still getting drops.

Are those enough to choke the single USB 2.0 on the mobo? Even if the hub is powered?
or
can i just logically assume it is choking despite the little amount of data or power required to run these things?
