My Pentium G4560 is bottlenecking my GTX 1060 6 Gig and was wondering if upgrading my ram from a single stick of 8 GB ram to a Dual channel of 12 GB of ram , should I ride it out with this idea or get a new cpu entirely.

Solution
If you can find a 8GB stick by the same manufacturer, with the same speed (frequency) and timings, then that is your best chance that the 2 sticks will work together, but no guarantees.
Get new CPU, that CPU is on pair with my i3-4170, but the main question, on which situation does it bottleneck?
Ram doesn't affect much, just max 5 fps unless its ROTTR (rise of the..).
On which resolution do you game?
If you render and other stuff, both upgrade would be better, but first answer.

How do you plan to go to dual channel of 12GB. If you add a 4GB stick to go along with your existing single 8GB stick, you will not be able to operate in dual channel mode, as the sticks of ram need to be the same for dual channel. If you add a 8GB stick (with the same specs as your current one), it may or not work as only ram sold in kits has been tested and proven to work together.

I game at 1080p , stutters here and there with a few games such as battlefield 1 and I don't use my pc for rendering ,strictly gaming.

Using 8gb+4gb of ram will still run dualchannel, but only for 4gb+4gb,the rest will run single channel. Is called "Flexmode".
Not that i recommend it,just to make clear.
Don't know if the extra ram will help though. You play with all other apps closed? Just the game running, which might still get close to 8gb of ram uage, but its worth testing this.
