Hi friends
I have an old PC and it's fan worked great for years. But this morning I thought there is a problem in case and it was making a lot of sound. Checked it and saw it's fan wasn't working.
Dropped a little oil in it and still didn't work. Then moved it with a pen (!) and now it's working perfect for 30 minutes, but then it stopped and doesn't move.
What should I do? It's holidays here and can't buy a new one. Can I open the case for 3,4 days without fan or it's dangerous for PC?

Solution
Which fan is it?

Basically your fan is on it's way out and you need a new one.

Now depending which fan it is will tell us how dangerous it is to run without it.

If it's the CPU fan...then don't run it.

If it's a case fan and you have quite a few....you probably could run it.

If you only have one case fan...run it with the case open until you get a new fan.
