Picking the best out of two configurations, mostly GPU-wise

Hey guys,

Right now I've got my old PC as well as a new one, which was just purchased, and I want to put together from both of them best possible machine and make the best out of in order to be able to use it for the main purpose of, of course - gaming.

The old machine is a 1150 socket one with a Pentium G3258 and 16GB RAM; what is worth mentioning is the Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 4GB GPU and the Seasonic M12II 750W Bronze PSU.

The new machine's specs:
-MSI Z270 SLi Plus
-Intel i5 7600K
-16GB RAM
-Corsair CS650M 650W
-MSI GTX 1050ti 4GB
(all new parts)

What I am wondering is what to do with the GPUs. Options I am thinking of are:
-Keeping the R9 290 and selling the GTX, since they are not compatible for SLI and not sure if a second R9 290 is a good idea to buy because it is a bit outdated GPU
-Keeping the GTX, selling the R9 290 and buying a second GTX for SLI
-Selling both of the cards and eventually managing to buy a GTX 1070
-Keeping my Seasonic PSU since it is more watts - if I decide to run a SLI setup, or keeping the Corsair one?

Also the case I am keeping is the new one (Corsair 200R Tower), but it comes with only one fan on the back. I am wondering what fans would be a good fit for it - I want to put at least a couple on the top of the case.

Please, let me know your thoughts on those options above or if you've got better suggestions - please do share them. I am trying to get the best results in order to play newest titles as smooth as possible (considering I've got a Dell S2718D monitor, which benefits GeForce). Would like some opinions as I am not so experienced and don't know what would work best, what would be more future-proof and so on...

Thanks in advance!

if you just bought it, return it

get a i5 8600k build

the 290 is superior to the 1050 ti

given the prices now are super inflated, sell the 290 and 1050 ti

use the built in until you get a decent gpu, the next gen is coming soon

I haven't exactly bought it from a retailer, so no returns on this one. It was a good deal, so I took it, while also considering I wanted that upgrade badly for long time.

Anyway. Are you suggesting selling both of the cards and not getting anything, until the new ones come out? I don't think I can wait for that moment, not knowing when exactly it will be. Also the built in graphics won't do me any good, that's for sure. I might sell the GTX and keep the ATI or sell both, but buying a new one... Hard to decide, that is for sure.
