I would like to know if anything is meant to be plugged into thr cmos pins. My motherboard is the asus strix b350f

CMOS pins are meant for resetting BIOS settings.

You use this cmos jumper only, if it's necessary to reset BIOS settings and you can't enter BIOS normally (for example after a bad overclock).
If you can enter BIOS normally, there's no need to use this BIOS reset feature.
