Hey! I have this RIG,

My current powersupply is diying I think!

I recently upgraded to 1080 but for some reason the FPS were far worse than my previous 970 so i decided to send it back and stick with what I have (until i can afford 1080 TI).

After re-installing the 970 i keep getting black screen about 2 hours into a fortnite game. Dosn't seem to happen with other games. I definetly uninstalled all the 1080 drivers too.

So my question is...

What Power supply should i get? and also.. Can i just place in the power supply and use the original cables as they are all setup already all i would have to do is plug and play?

Here is the event viewer of the crticals. Does this just show that the screens turned off or is this suggestion the cause is PSU?

Thanks

Be aware that modular power cables are NOT interchangeable between Brands or even models within brands. With a new PSU ALWAYS use the cables that came with the new PSU!
As far as which PSU to buy, start here:

If none of them are available locally, then A 550-650watt unit from tiers one or two here:

Okay thanks will do. my current is 650 W. if in future i wanted to upgrade to 1080 TI? should i inveest in 750w now or more so it could handle it when i get it?

I think 650 watts from a quality PSU would still handle your system with a 1080ti. The GTX10xx cards are less power hungry than their 9xx siblings..

unless you are running benchmark, your cpu and gpu do not run at 100% at the same time. meaning that your system power draw are usually around 300w-400w during gaming. having said that, psu are most efficient running at 40~60% load, that's why people tend to suggest 600w~700w for 1080ti/i7 build, any decent brand PSU with 37.5A on 12V+ should be fine. I have a 6600k oc 4.5Ghz / evga ftw3 1080 ti on a evga 500b (500w), and i game about 4 hrs a day for a year now, rock solid. so your 650w should be okay.
