How To Install and Format an SSD and SSHD

I am a computer scrub and I will be building a gaming PC soon, and I have one very big question. After building the entire thing, how do I install, set up and format my SSD and SSHD.

I am planning to buy a Seagate FireCuda 2 TB SSHD, and a 120 Gg Kingston A400 SSD.
The SSD is for the OS and other softwares like steam and photoshop, and the SSHD is for pictures, media and most importantly GAMES

(The motherboard I am going to buy has 4 Sata 6gb/s ports)

TWO MAIN QUESTIONS:
1) After I’ve built the entire thing and connect it to my monitor how do I set up my SSD and then my SSHD? Then how will I go on about making folders in the SSHD and making the SSHD the default download disk for games and media?

2) Is 120gb of SSD enough to store Windows 10 Home (64 bit), Steam, and possibly photoshop?

Someone please answer these questions because I’m in desperate need of help! Thanks!

Solution
2. Don't buy a 120GB SSD. This will be your OS drive, and a 120GB is right on the edge of TooSmall.
Seriously. Look to a 250GB or larger.

1. The two drives.
First, install the OS on the SSD with only the SSD connected.

Unless I have missed something your questions indicate that you are not ready to begin such a project.

And that is meant in a good way. We all have to start off somewhere....

First you need to go back a few steps.

Find and read some "How-to" tutorials on building your own PC.

For example, from this Forum:

http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1657114/step-step-guide-building.html

There are other similar tutorials and links within Tom's and elsewhere.

Plus you must go online and research the hardware requirements for the software you plan to install.

That software includes the OS, Steam, and Photoshop to start with. Find out how much storage space is needed.

And all the other components matter as well. They must also meet the software's expectations. Games, for example, need GPU power which forces PSU requirements upward.

Minimal values exist but recommended values should be used if performance is to be what you expect. Go for higher values if you can for the sake of performance and future growth.

Read, learn, put together your own build plan. Be very specific. Double check everything - especially the compatibility of all the components you intend to assemble and install.

Leave nothing to chance.

And if there is a budget then that may impose constraints on what you can purchase and install.

After that what do I do to format the SSHD

After you have the system up and running on the SSD, plug the SSHD in (power off, of course).
It may need to be Initialized, Formatted, and given a drive letter.

But as above...let's start at the beginning.
This sounds like your first lap around the track, and we just want to be sure you're on the right path for a gaming PC.

What is your parts list, and why?

Yeah after a ton of YouTube and asking dumb questions.

By the way, do you have any suggestions for a good gaming keyboard and mouse that is not that cheap but not too expensive ($30 - $70)

Also I have like two more questions: (sorry!!)

1) Do I use an HDMI cable or something else to connect my pc to the monitor?

2) And are Fourth of July deals good to buy pc parts and key and mice etc?

I'm really not good recommending human interface devices like that.
Far too personal.

A Razer mechanical that I like (and am using right now) may be too loud for you.
A mouse that fits my have may be too small for you

Mouse? I like the current Logitech MX Master. But some people don't want wireless...
