Hello everybody.

Recently bought an docking station to get my files from my very old SATA HDD. It worked with the IDE HDD but not with SATA.

So the problem is that HDD shows up in Device Manager but i can't see it in My Computer.

Disk management shows it as "No Media".

You can clearly hear that the disk is spinning.

As far as i remember the drive was fully working and had Windows XP on it.

Any ideas how to get the disk alive?

Solution
Then test using USB2, it is backward compatible and the only purpose is to quick test to see if it works or not.

Alternatively, boot up using a Linux live-cd (or usb stick) on your computer and then try connect the hdd. Any the most popular distros (see distrowatch.com) should be capable of testing.
