Hey guys planning on getting a z170 board for my i7 7700k. The problem is since ddr4 prices are way up I cant afford ddr4 atm, so I was planning on getting a z170 ddr3 board I have 2 sticks of crucial 8gb 1600mhz ram would this weak ram affect games in performance by alot? Also which z170 ddr3 boards do you guys recommend?

Solution
Niche Skylake motherboards like the Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 DDR3 work with DDR3 memory. You wouldn't be able to get a 7700k running in it because you'd have to perform a BIOS update to get it to work. You would also need to overvolt the RAM to get it to work.

I recommend just getting a z270 board and saving up for DDR4 RAM. Save yourself the grief of having both BIOS and RAM issues. DDR3 is on its way out and DDR4 RAM costs are just a part of PC building right now.
