Samsung 960 Evo cooling

Solution
Not unless you are constantly reading and writing from the drive, and if that were the case you possibly should have opted for the pro model with more endurance. Normal usage from a drive including gaming will not cause it to thermal throttle.

If you want it just for looks go for it. However I wouldn't expect it to serve a purpose, unless you are doing large file transfers or something that will put the drive under heavy load for extended periods of time. I have a 960 evo and for what I do with it it never gets hot at all.

Ok, well thanks for your fast respond :) , so the only reason I will spend this money for the cover is just because it looks nice :D, not very smart but well.. :) Cheers!

My 960 EVO has only racked up a little over 8 TB of writes in the last full year...; and I suspect most of that was downloading of utilities and, Windows updates, Creators updates, etc...

The EVO stays pretty cool, I supposed if you were doing sustained 20 minutes of writing with 500 GB to it, it might thermally throttle somewhat, but, 99.9% of most users would never see it happen, or, notice that it even did if/when it occurred....
