Hi all,

After 5 years of solid service, my trusty battlestation has finally let me down and stopped booting into windows 7. I can get as far as the animated windows logo appearing on the screen with the text "starting windows", but then the fans spin up, the screen goes blank, and the PC powers itself down and restarts. I can post a video of this process if that helps!

It will however, boot into safe mode. I also managed to get it to boot into normal mode by removing the graphics card and using the Mobo graphics, although this make the whole machine run very slowly. I could even plug the graphics card back in and install a driver, although once the driver was installed the computer stopped booting again, just like before.

I've tried a number of things to fix the problem:

1) I tried all the startup repair options (clean booting, last known good configuration, chkdisk)

2) I've changed the power supply, although it didn't do anything

3) Dusted out the machine

4) Messed with the GPU (see above)

Part List:

CPU: AMD Fx 6300 w. stock cooler (no overclock) Mobo: Ga-78lmt-USB3 RAM: 4x2GB DDR3, mixed manufacturers (2 sticks are corsair value) GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7850 2GB PSU: Cooler master GX 550w

I appreciate that the GPU/mobo might be on the way out, but is there anything else I can try? I can't seem to find my boot disc for windows either!

Please help, and thanks in advance, H
