I suspect my gpu has died.

I was playing overwatch and sudenly my whole computer was lagging and the audio was messed up too. Overwatch crashed and a window poped up saying my graphics hardware wasn't detected. I restarted and the monitor wasn't coming on until I switched what port it was pluged in on the gpu. Now when I play a game it plays with alright fps for a couple seconds and then the fps goes down to 10. Is there anything I can do to verify it has died?

If you get any picture when plugged into your graphics card then the GPU is detected and running so it isn't dead. It sounds like the drivers aren't working though. The drivers may have stopped working and Windows automatically installed a generic driver for the card.

I would clear out the drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller and reinstall them. Only install the driver and Physx and leave everything else.

Do you run the audio out of your GPU as well? I suspect you may want to test another PSU in your machine before going after the GPU. Cheaper to replace if you are running an expensive GPU(maybe not for Overwatch)
