Hello!

I've recently acquired an Acer Predator XB241 (24", 1080p, 144hz, Gsync) monitor and was thinking about upgrading my GPU. Is it worth it? (I live in Argentina so prices and offers don't apply, just from a performance standpoint).

I play mainly single player games, lots of open world (Watch Dogs 2, Far Cri Primal, Dark Sould 3, Hellblade) Future buys are probably things like Far Cry 5, A Way Out, Sea Of Thieves. I don't care too much about graphics, more about smooth gameplay which should be relatively easy to obtain with Gsync.

The card MUST be Nvidia since I have an Nvidia Shield and use a lot of the Gamestream function.

Thanks A LOT!

Depends on if you are satisfied with current framerates; certainly upgrading to a GTX1070 these days will not be inexpensive, with the GTX1070 starting at $529 US....

(Your CPU might not be capable of maintaining 144 fps in the newest games to sustain 144 Hz refresh rates anyway...; so you might stand pat until you can upgrade to a newer DDR4 rig.....unless you can find a bargain priced 4790K somewhere) :)

Thanks a lot for your reply!
I'm not really worried about maintaining 144fps because I think the Gsync has been handling things pretty well with the fps drops (at least for my personal preferences).
You say I should aim at upgrading mobo+cpu before gpu?
