Display Port No Signal

So two days ago on March 20th Nvidia released a new driver for the GTX 1080Ti, yesterday Windows had a big update as well. After installing them both together yesterday, at the next boot, my dual monitor setup that has been working fine for over 6 months suddenly gives me the "display port no signal" error. Both my screens don't work with DP, but both work with DVI. The cables are not defect either, since they work on my second comp just fine.

Now the main issue is that my graphics card only has one DVI output, so I can only use my main screen atm, but even if it had two, I would much rather use my display ports.

I tried to install the old driver again, but it won't let me, because apparently that's not compatible with the current version of Windows 10 I have now.

I'm really not sure what to do right now, so I would appreciate it if you guys could help me out here!

I just had this on my Asus 144hz monitor.

Did you try the unplug trick?

- Turn on Monitor
- Ensure that it's on DP
- Unplug Monitor from monitor or plug
- Wait until all lights are off on the monitor
- Replug monitor

I did that AND switched displayport ports and got it to work finally.

Yup, I had the same issue with my 1080Ti with dual monitors off one DP connector and daisy chained. I went through literally every program on my machine (still running W7) and it turned out that it was Firefox. As soon as I uninstalled Firefox Quantum and went back to Firefox ESR the DP problem pretty much was gone.

Since you can't uninstall/refuse W10 updates, if it was an update perhaps the best place to turn would be to NVIDIA support.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. It started shortly after I updated from Firefox ESR to Quantum but I didn't think that could be the problem until I tested everything else. The DP output would randomly fail at some point within about an hour or so of use so it was a bit confusing initially.

And yes, I also had to troubleshoot with a single monitor on the DVI connector because the loss of signal became too frequent and I got tired of doing a hard shutdown and then powering back up.

Not sure what I'll do when Firefox no longer updates ESR starting August 28th, suppose I'll use Chrome if the then latest Quantum version still causes issues and NVIDIA's latest driver doesn't remedy the issue.

I have two of the same monitor, and your method actually worked! Thanks dude, I did not expect such a simple trick to be the solution! ^^
