Any advantages to using 2 GPU's?

Hey everyone. Just a quick question, would I gain anything by having a second GPU(non crossfire)?

I use two monitors(well ones a tv), and was wondering if it would help take stress off the current GPU.

The main gpu is an R9 290, with the second one I plan on adding being an R7 240A.

I mostly do gaming w/discord/Spotify/chrome up.

No benefit. A 240 would be a waste of money sadly and wouldn't even be good for mining. It wouldn't do anything for you. The R9 290 is more than capable. If you want more performance I'd upgrade the card to something like a Vega or GTX 1070.

There is no point in having the second gpu in there in your case.
