Hello,
I recently upgraded to 300Mbps from 100. On the 100 plan i was able to get almost those speeds. But on the 300 plans I can only get 125ish. This is on Ethernet and 2 computers. BUT on my phone WiFi 5g i get over 300. All computers running windows 10 and drivers updated. Even connected to the modem i get the same.
Can anyone send some guidance please. Thank you

If it does it when you directly plug into the modem then it almost has to be the pc. There is a small chance you have a defective cable but most those you just drop to 100mbps so you would not even get 125mbps.

It is very strange that it does it on 2 different pc. Make sure you are using the newer speedtest software that does not use flash. The older flash based one could not keep up with faster internet connections.

You also need to make sure you are testing to the same speedtest site on the phone as on the pc. Different sites even in the same city can have very different download speeds. You need to try a couple, the one on your ISP tends to get the fastest numbers.
No download or network use will go faster than the slowest hop in the route. If you had gigabit fiber and the web site throttles to 1Mbit/s, then you will never get more than 1Mbit/s.

To know if you have a problem you need to see the entire route hop (many devices relay to/from the next device). One tool to do this is "tracert" in Windows, or "traceroute" on Linux and other systems. If individual hops support ICMP protocol, then you'll see times to each point along the route, not just the final time. Not every hop supports the protocol used for ping and traceroute, though most do, so you won't get every point listed. Different protocols are also used for which may not exactly mimic the timing of a traceroute...YMMV.

On each device run tracert or traceroute (such as from a DOS prompt or other text terminal) to the end point.

I wouldn't be suppised if the router or switch you are using only has 10/100 ports on it. Those cap the speed to a max of 125mb.
