What to upgrade GPU or CPU

I believe I need to upgrade my computer cpu or gpu just don't know which.
I would like to play games like Fortnite at 30fps. Right now I am getting about 17fps on the lowest graphical settings.
I'm willing to pay about $100

What APU do you have?

Meanwhile you can test this. Run Fortnite, and also run MSI Afterburner at the same time. It'll give you an onscreen display of CPU and GPU usage. is your CPU usage at or near 100%?

The is no good CPU that you can upgrade to for $100. Any CPU upgrade at this point means new motherboard and memory too. Not possible for $100.

So you are left with GPU options. $100 won't buy you any GPUs worth a darn with crypto miners jacking the GPU market. So the best thing you can do is save you $100.

When I ran MSI and Fortnite my CPU was at 88%

I'm willing to pay about $200 max, I'm perfectly fine with a used product.

If you can get yourself a 1050 for $160 right now like at here:

This could very well be a good deal for you. Anything more than this and your CPU will start to get in the way. More than likely it should get to 60fps at 1080p at low details.

But personally, it really hurt to see the 1050 so expensive. Since I got my 1050ti for close to $105 after rebates see;
