SkyNetRising :
How new is this 250GB WD HDD ? What's the model name?
Are there any other storage devices connected?
Can you connect this HDD to some other working pc and run drive diagnostics? Screenshot from HDtune health perhaps?
Its a refurbished one. No other storage connected to the system.
This is the 3rd HDD facing this problem in this config. Tried in other system and they work without issues.
All HDD same issue, after the install is complete and restarted .

question, what this a replacement drive because the old one failed, I am asking because if this 250Gb Hdd (not an SSD right ?) you could try to reset cmos in case a previously saved setting is interfering with the new drive installed is not properly recognized.
NOpe this is a fresh system and not a reisntalltion
captaincharisma :
if it is a 250GB HDD then i would say the drive either failed due to age or is not compatible with your modern build again because of its age. if this is a 250GB SSD drive then it may be it is defective. i have a 250GB WD Blue SSD running without issue in my laptop
I do not think so as i mentioned this is the 3rd one facing the same problem in this system, while they work in other ones perfectly.
