Problem reinstalling XP - languages

I just reinstalled XP, but it's service pack 1. It won't allow me to access internet even though I have the driver for devices and the Service Pack 3 update won't run since "my computer isn't same language." Also I can't access the "drivers and utilites" disc since it requires Service Pack 2. Help

Check System Date and Time and if they aren't accurate fix them. then Give it a try

Most likely you are missing Ethernet drivers.

You need to download the Ethernet drives from another computer and put it on a flash drive.

USB 2.0 drivers should be included with Windows Xp allowing the use of a flash drive.

just an FYI. I would avoid reinstalling XP. Windows doesn't support it anymore meaning any known loopholes are remaining wide open and not being patched.

You are leaving yourself to a large risk by continuing to use XP.

You mean when Device Manager shows the Ethernet devices as yellow question marks? I used this factory driver and utility disc that helped the device manager recognize them.

Bring the flash drive to the old computer and run the driver update.

Having said that Windows Xp is highly insecure and any computer that came with it is now out of date hardware wise.
I'm thinking its a single core pentium 4 ... or worse.

Even a $300 computer from Walmart would be faster

This definitely sounds like a missing drivers issue.

I said the issue had been dealt with and Ethernet Device is responding on the network connections and the network adapter appears fine.

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.93GHz (2 CPUs)

It's a old tower PC I'm trying to get run XP for sakes of running XP. It's definetly not my main working computer.

That's odd but unsurprising. I'm thinking you may not have a choice but to see if you can find SPs 2/3 on the web and burn them to disk. I'm pretty sure I had to do something similar when I built a new rig for my mom and had to install XP since I didn't have a copy of 7+ to give her.

The fact that device manager is showing a yellow question mark and you are unable to connect still points to a lack of correct Ethernet drivers.

You do apparently have something of an Ethernet driver, enough to populate the Ethernet connections with a generic driver.

But as you can see it isn't connecting.

If once you have the latest Ethernet drivers and it still doesn't work then we can move from there.

You might as well update all drivers; Motherboard drivers, Video drivers, ... once you get Ethernet working.

Got XP Service Pack 3 working via trickery. However, the goddamned DVI-HDMI issues still persist.
