What does this mean for my motherboards's ram capabilities?

"Your computer uses 1066 MHz and 1333Mhz DDR3 unbuffered or registered ECC SDRAM memory"

What types of ram sticks can I use? I have 2x4gb ddr3 sticks and they can from a desktop computer

I also have 1x4gb ddr3 with a number that says 8500R at the end of the sticker.

Could I mix these ram types together? (2x4gb ddr3 and 1x4gb ddr3 8500R) Does it mean the 2x4gb ddr3 sticks would work in this system?

It's a Dell t5500 it's a server with 1 xeon processor shaped like a big desktop

Config allows 4x4x4gb, I'm only confused what the manual means by the quote above

For those name or term, you can just forget about, and to make it easy: you have to know for server, you need to use the ECC RAM, for desktop, you need the Non-ECC memory, keep in mind you can use either ECC or non-ECC in some of desktops, but you can't mix ECC and non-ECC together.

So back your Dell, it is the server computer so that you have to use the ECC RAM, if the ddr3 8500R is from Samsung DDR3-1066mhz ECC registered. You are fine. But you can't mix it with other desktop non-ECC RAM.

If you want to learn more ECC memory, check the link from wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECC_memory other site like https://www.servethehome.com/unbuffered-registered-ecc-memory-difference-ecc-udimms-rdimms/
