hey there

I'm going to buy a msi gt 1030 AERO itx graphics card
but I have a VGA monitor and this card does not have VGA port and I have to use DVI to VGA conversion. I wanted to know this does not reduce the quality of the output image?

I am Iranian and unfortunately I can not speak English well.

Solution
Yes - VGA will not provide as good of an image as a digital input (DVI, HDMI or DP). Also, you will need to get an "active" DVI to VGA converter/adapter, NOT just a simple adapter. The 1030 card only outputs a digital video signal. The active adapter converts the digital video signal to a VGA analog signal. This is also why the image is not as good. The old analog VGA technology does not provide as good of quality as the newer digital technologies.

A 1030 won't work with a DVI to VGA adapter. The 10xx series cards output ONLY digital, no analog. The DVI to VGA requires the analog pins on the DVI connector to be active. They are not enabled on the 10xx series cards. You have to use an ACTIVE (powered) HDMI or displayport to VGA adapter.

The spec page for that card -- https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GT-1030-AERO-ITX-2G-OC/Specification clearly shows -- HDMI (Version 2.0b) / SL-DVI-D A DVI-D port does not have the pins required for VGA converter.
