Strange crashes after BIOS update

After updating BIOS today some strange crashes started to happen. I could be gaming or just surfing the web and then suddenly I hear a click sound like my headphones are being disconected and the screen goes black while all the lights and fans seem to be working normaly.

No matter how long I hold the power button down the pc won't turn off. The only way that I can turn it off is to flip the switch on the psu.
And then another strange thing happens. If I press the start button without waiting for the pc to lose all power(psu switch off) it won't start. I have to wait for the motherboard's light to turn off then turn on the psu and it boots.

I am thinking of rolling back to the previous BIOS but im scared it will crash in the middle of the update.

Solution
Are all your drivers also up to date?

Since this just started happening after a BIOS update you should contact Asus Technical Support and ask them what to do. They will know if other customers are reporting similar problems.
