Hey fellahs, i have a problem with my OBS. Ive started to stream some fortnite on my computer, but when i get into intense fights and there is too much building i start to lag and its barely playable.

My specs are the following:
Windows 10 64bit
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
8GB ram (DDR4)
ASUS B350 motherboard
Geforce gtx 1080 6gb
Kingston SSD disk (which i have the game on)
100/100MB/s Fiber

I did some more experimenting though, and i belive that it has something to do with my internet, i just cant seem to fix the problem, no matter what bitrate i have on OBS (stream software) 2500 and 20000 bitrate does the same thing, and i still lag as soon as i see people (not FPS lag)

If i test speedtest.net in game i still have 80mb/s upload speed and my ping is 3ms. I just dont get where the lag is coming from :(
Another intresting thing is that the stream on twitch doesent lag at all, its just lag on my computer screen which i find kind of strange.
If you have any experience with OBS id appreciate any help possible.

Did you check your CPU utilization? Software encoding in OBS while playing a game puts significant extra load on the CPU. You could try downscaling the output stream to 720p to reduce the encoding load.

A friend of mine has started streaming, and I dabble in it to help him out.
We got turned on to Streamlabs OBS, which uses significantly less cpu than default OBS.
We found it simpler to set up and use as newbies,
It has a lot better integration of addons for streaming.

Chances are what you are experiencing is more server lag than anything else, streaming data in from other players when a lot of building is going on would be a good candidate for making the game server netcode choke.
The twitch picture not showing this behaviour is likely due to the game itself actually running slower, meaning less frames to encode.
