SO i have a h110m motherbaord msi and i wanted to put an m.2 ssd but theres not a location for one and a regular ssd theres no space for it in my case other than to put velcro on it and stick it somewhere on the case so if i buy a new motherbaord and put everything on there like hdd and gpu and stuff will i need to get windows again sense i heard the os is on the motherboard not the drives or is it better to just get another bigger case and move the motherboard which option is best or any better recomnedations?

Solution

The OS exists on one of your current drives.

However, moving to a new motherboard is not a trivial decision. Especially if the only reason it for an "m.2 SSD".

easiest would be just to get a bigger case

because yes, if you change mobos you need to re-install windows

For a 2.5" SSD< you can use sticky velcro, and put it anywhere.
As long as you have a spare SATA port on the motherboard, it will work.

"m.2" is a whole different thing. And requires a new motherboard.

i heard the os is on the motherboard not the drives
Whoever told you this...do not listen to that person ever again.
The OS is NOT 'on the motherboard'.
It exists on one of your drives.
