Hello, so recently I have bought a gt103 and plugged it into a hp z200. It does not work :( it says cable not connected, I have checked all cables and that's not the case. I'm using a dvi-d to vg a adapter. I read on some posts that I need a active adapter is that the case and if so will it work? Please reply

Solution
You are connecting the display to the graphics card right?

nVIDIA 10 series does not support analog displays. You may need an active adapter. Also older HP computers before 2012 lack the UEFI BIOS that 10 series cards need to work.

It may not as it's a pre 2012 HP. However, I have found some benchmarks from users with the same machine with 10 series cards however so that is a good sign. You may need to update your BIOS if you still cannot get the card to detect. I would also check your BIOS settings and make sure the primary display source is set to the graphics card and not the integrated graphics.

You would download the BIOS file from HP's website support page (click your product then scroll down to BIOS and select what you want), unzip the file then put the file on a FAT32 flash drive, boot into your BIOS settings, and then use the BIOS update utility in BIOS to select the BIOS file you downloaded and update. HP also has a BIOS update tool that allows you to update your BIOS inside Windows with an install program as well although I personally find they are riskier. If a BIOS update fails it can render the motherboard bricked.
