Hello,

Currently where I live I only have these five options for a mobo, pairing with an i5 8600k:

-GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS GAMING 5 (200€)
-MSI Z370 GAMING M5 Intel (190€)
-Asus STRIX Z370-F GAMING (185€)

The next two are a bit more expensive, not sure if worth it maybe I should put the money in a better CPU cooler?

-GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS GAMING 7 (250€)
-Asus MAXIMUS X HERO (240€)

They are all Z370 boards. So in terms of pure performance they should all perform the same. Without looking them all up, you'll need to look over them to see if any provide anything "extra" that you need. I bought my board because it comes with extra SATA ports which I needed at the time. One (or more) of those boards might have extra SATA ports, better chipset cooling, or better OCing features. I don't think I would bother with either of the two more expensive boards. I'm not sure the 50-60 more you'd have to spend is worth it. My last few boards have been Gigabyte boars, but only because they tend to offer more features at a lower price point compared to the competitors. In this case however I'd probably get the Asus Strix. They tend to be good board and it's also the cheapest.

Thank you for the answer, one more question since you seem very knowledgeable about PC components.
In my current rig I am using an XFX PRO 850W bronze power supply, it's been working fine ever since I bought back in 2013, do you think there's any risk if I use it in my new build ? or should I buy a new one ?

I am not sure, I just want a good quality board with decent VRMs that can sustain a moderate overclock.

Z370 is pretty good across the board for moderate oc. Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock, Biostar all seem to be pretty good. You can check for the best deal and decide which to get.

I have the Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 which has been great and the Gaming 5 is very close so just as good. Cannot complain with my Gigabyte purchases over the last few years..Both the Gaming 5 and the Gaming 7 have very good VRM's. On a side note, I have also heard good things from my friend for his ASRock Taichi though not sure about cost.
