My Computer freezes at the worst possible times

Zotac gtx 1060 3 gb
Intel i5 7400
a 600Watt power supply

This problem has been going on for about a month i think, its getting really annoying, and make me rage at games, which i really hate doing, so im playing fortnite, and it runs smooth at 160 fps on some good settings, (ive tried lowering them all to the lowest) it runs kinda smooth, it has some hiccups, not internet related i think, because the game freezes not lag spike, i have not overclocked anything, have my pc in high peformance, and have tried many solutions, nothing works. please help!

Does this only happen on Fortnight? Does it only happen in graphically intensive games? Or is it a problem all the time? Also, does the game recover from the freeze or does do you have to reset your system? It could be a software related problem, bad video drivers, a bizarre bug in the game that only affect your computer, or a Windows problem.

I would first start with reinstalling the video drivers or updating them. I would also make sure that there are no background apps or viruses running in the background that are hogging up your CPU.

Also, could you give us more information on your hardware? What brand of RAM do you have and how much is there? What type of HDD or SSD do you have? What is the brand of power supply?

Knowing more about your hardware can help us determine whether or not your problem is hardware or software related. A bad hard drive, PSU, or stick of RAM can also create problems like these. A PSU that doesn't provide constant power to the video card can cause problems. Or perhaps you don't have enough RAM and that is causing the problem.

One other thing you could do is try removing a stick of RAM and seeing if that fixes the issue, then put it back and try the other by itself.
