Hi,

I just broke my zalman Z11 power switch, I know how to turn on my PC trough the motherboard but I rather have my power button fixed. I do not have a soldering kit and don't even know what to solder on the switch, I got 2 broken wire ends and 4 spots they could go to. So I really do not fancy fixing this myself.

The other option is to buy a new power switch but I cannot find a replacement to buy for the Z11.

I could perhaps buy a random power switch and just let it hang out of my case as a temporary solution. And perhaps there are other alternatives I can look into?

Sorry for the bad picture, couldn't get it properly with my phone.

Solution
Assuming your case has a reset button, you can swap the reset header to the power button header and use it to power the system on instead. In the end, you'll just have a power button (the former reset button).

You could:
a| Resolder the wires from the last known position, but that would probably result in a damaged power button
b| Contact Zalman and ask them for a replacement part/switch
c| Not do anything with the current switch and replace it with an anti-vandal switch/button after you mod the front panel
d| Buy a new chassis.

b. would probably cost more shipping then a 2nd hand chassis.
c. Could you elaborate on this? How would I integrate such a button on my front panel? Or are there button specifically for the Z11 front panel?
d. A used one will probably do.

That was the first thing come to mind. However, the reset button seems to have a very different plug.

The reset switch should have the same connector just 2 wires.

The connector that connects to the motherboard should be the same for both the power and reset buttons.

Ahh, I could put the connector attached to the motherboard of the reset button over the power pins right? I was thinking of buying the momentary switch with cable but cannot find one that is much cheaper then a 2nd hand case. I will try that since I never use my reset button anyway and my power button is was not functioning properly anyway (had to press hard) otherwise I just buy a bundle of those cables and be done with it.

Yes, just switch them. The reset button will act just like the power button.
